Memory wire is a great way to create instant designs and showcase your beads.

Memory wire is a tempered stainless steel wire which holds its shape. It’s is bought in coils and usually comes in three different varieties; a necklace size, a bracelet size and a ring size.

When you get your memory wire, decide how much or a length (how many coils) you want to use and cut using memory wire sheers. Memory wire is extremely tough to cut, and so you will damage regular wire cutter if you do not use memory wire sheers.

To make a standard bracelet, cut approx three coils worth of memory wire. Thread on beads in the pattern of your choice. Then take around nose pliers and make a loop turning again the wire’s natural curl with round nose pliers. You can dress the loop is if you require by making some beaded dangles to hang from the loop.

If you want to go a stage further, you can get a half drilled bead and glue this onto the end of the memory wire.  To obtain the best adhesion, use sandpaper to roughen the surface of the wire, then apply glue, (such as epoxy) and add the bead end.
