Jewelry Project
A delicate pair of earrings inspired by Ancient Greece
Materials needed
14 crystal bicones 4mm
2 crystal bicones 6mm
size 8 seed beads
Headpins
2 metal Grecian style metal beads or similar
2 heart shaped beads 15mm or approx
Jump rings
Tips
Make sure any beads you choose are light weight so as not to drag on the ear. Experiment with different shaped feature beads and different coloured crystal.
Step One
Thread a seed bead, a metal bead and another seed bead onto a headpin. Make a loop at one end with round nose pliers and move the bead towards the loop. The other end of the headpin, cut off the flat end leaving ¼inch (1cm) of wire, and make another loop. Now repeat for the other earring.
Step Two
Take another headpin and thread on a seed bead, a 4mm crystal, a seed bead, a heart bead, a seed bead, a crystal, and another seed bead. Make loops both ends of the headpin as before. Now join this headpin to the previous one via the loops. Repeat for other earring.
Step Three
Make a crystal drop by placing crystal on a headpin, adding a seed bead if desired for extra detail; trim the wire and make a loop as usual. Repeat this with four other 4mm crystals, and one 6mm crystal. Now using jump rings, attach these drops to the base of the heart shape bead headpin loop. Attach ear wire and repeat process for the other earring.
